THE FILM DOPES REVIEW! – STAR TREK BEYOND

Another week, another episode of THE FILM DOPES PODCAST! This time, the one and only “Ready Eddy”finally  takes over the hosting spot, joined once again by “Stuntman Jess”. Together, they review STAR TREK BEYOND, directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious series), starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, and John Cho.

Captain James Tiberius Kirk (Pine), Spock (Quinto), and the rest of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew return in this thirteenth and latest installment of the Star Trek series, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2016. They encounter a new enemy (Elba), who puts everything they, and the Federation they stand for, to the ultimate test.

 

 

 

 

THE FILM DOPES REVIEW! – GHOSTBUSTERS (2016)

THE FILM DOPES ARE AT IT AGAIN!!! As Stuntman Jess, and The Renaissance Man Gabriel review Ghostbusters (2016). Directed by   Paul Feig ( Bridesmaids ) and starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

A paranormal researcher, a physicist, an engineer and a local citizen are trying to prove that ghosts exist, when they find themselves in neck deep in a series of encounters with apparitions through out different locations in their city. Little do they know that these are signs of a cataclysmic haunting that is about to befall New York, as some one or something is trying to awaken all the ghoulish perils that lurk. This unlikely team must now put their wits, and ingenuity to the test in order to save the world as we know it.

20 years after the nations of earth united to stop an advanced alien threat, an event known as the Battle of Independence Day, the world has changed drastically. Crash sites and ruins of alien ships make up most of the scenery in some landscapes, and the governing bodies of earth have learned to harness this foreign technology in order to advance their cause. But now earth finds itself threatened once again as the same invaders look to go to war with earth.

THE FILM DOPES REVIEW! –10 CLOVERFIELD LANE

THE FILM DOPES ARE AT IT AGAIN!!! Alex Camargo, and The Renaissance Man Gabriel, review 10 Cloverfield Lane . The latest film from Bad Robot (The production studio behind Star Wars Epsiode VII). Starring John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Gallagher Jr., and directed by Dan Trachtenberg.

Set in the world of the 2008 monster movie, Cloverfield; A young woman and a man find themselves trapped in an underground bunker with a mad survivalist, who has made them believe that the surface in uninhabitable due to a massive chemical attack. Unsure what to believe, the young woman decides she must escape, no matter what dangers she may face outside.

THE FILM DOPES REVIEW! – THE MARTIAN

The Film Dopes are at it again as The Renaissance Man Gabriel, Stuntman Jess, Ready Eddie, and Alex Camargo review the latest film by Ridley Scott (Exodus: Gods and Kings, Prometheus) The Martian. Matt Damon (Elysium), Jessica Chastain (Interstellar), and Jeff Daniels (News Room), spear head one the largest ensemble casts to date, in a film that is sure to make buzz during the award season.

Based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir; In the not so distant future, a mission to mars is aborted when a severe storm separates astronaut Mark Watney (Damon) from his crew. Left for dead, Watney must find a way to survive in an alien environment with nothing but dwindling resources and his wits; while his crew headed by Commander Lewis (Chastain) and NASA figure out how they can assemble a rescue mission, to bring our fellow man home.
